helping you help kittens in need
Every day, The Little Lion Foundation receives many pleas for help from people asking us to take in cats or kittens that need homes. Our ability to take in cats is extremely limited compared to the need of kittens at risk of euthanasia in animal shelters across LA County — and unfortunately, we are unable to help everyone who needs it. We can, however, help people find homes for cats or kittens while offering you free or low-cost resources to make it easy for you through our Community Foster Program.
Do you need to find a home for kittens or cats that you’ve found? This program is for you! It gives you access to discounted veterinary care, low- or no-cost medications, and it lets you use our wide-reaching adoption infrastructure to help you find homes for the cats or kittens you have rescued. There’s no commitment to volunteer with us, and our team will assist you every step of the way.

Before a cat can be adopted through LLF, they must be healthy, social and medically adoptable in accordance to LLF’s protocols — which includes up to date vaccinations, microchip, FeLV/FIV test, spay or neuter surgery, and treatment for parasites. This program will offer these services to you for a specified low-cost donation.

As a Community Foster, you will be responsible for fostering the cats enrolled into the program until they are adopted. LLF may offer opportunities for transport to another organization through our Transport Program, but this is not guaranteed. By enrolling into this program, you must agree to house the cats until they find an adoptive home.

Before a cat can be adopted through LLF, they must have a minimum of 2 FVRCP vaccinations, microchip, FeLV/FIV test, spayed or neutered, and up to date on deworming and flea treatment.
Once your foster is ready for adoption, they will be listed on our website, Adopt-A-Pet, Petfinder, and hundreds of other adoption listing sites. Any applications received for your foster cat will be reviewed and processed by LLF’s Adoption Team in accordance to our adoption policies.
