Foster
Fostering is one of the most fun, rewarding, and most effective ways to help us save the lives of our feline friends in need.
It doesn't matter if your home is tiny or massive or if you live alone or have animals of your own, you can still become a foster parent and save lives! There are so many animals that need us that would have otherwise lost their lives.
That's why we are always looking for new fosters. Having foster families signed up early (and before an urgent situation has come to light) is the key to saving as many lives as we possibly can. Sometimes we are given a few days to get a kitten out of the shelter and other times, we are given less than an hour. We always try to have fosters on hand, ready and waiting, so that we can jump into action to save a life when whenever we are needed.
Please keep in mind that signing up to foster is not the same as requesting help with cats and kittens you have found!
If you need assistance with a cat or kitten you have found, we urge you to apply for our Community Foster Program. For more information on how this program works, click here.
VOLUNTEER
Volunteering is a great way to help the kitties even when you are unable to foster or adopt. We are always looking for new, dedicated volunteers to keep our kitties happy, healthy, and social.
We have many volunteer opportunities available including, but not limited to:
Volunteering at the Kitten Nursery (onsite in Long Beach, Ca)
Fostering cats and kittens in need (in home)
Caring for adoptable cats at our Pet Food Express adoption center (onsite in Long Beach, Ca)
Completing families with our Adoptions Team (mostly remote)
Helping community cats through TNVR (offsite at various locations)
Transporting cats to and from appointments and other events
Data entry and email processing (remote opportunity)
Keeping cats healthy at vaccine clinics or wellness events
All volunteers are required to attend an orientation which is held every third Saturday of the month at LLF’s Headquarters.
